Online Services used for Grove House Surgery Patients

There are now several online systems available and each serves a different purpose, but we understand that from the patient’s point of view they can appear to be related. We hope this section explains what the purpose of each is

Accurx - Patient Triage

This is a system that we use to receive Dr’s appointment requests and queries from patients. We have tailored it so we can also patients can also use it to request prescriptions. Take me to Accurx

NHS App

The NHS App provides a simple and secure way for people to access a range of NHS services on their smartphone or tablet. Your NHS account gives you access to certain NHS services online for example you can get your test results.

January 2024:

The NHS App has been redesigned to make it easier for patients to find the services they need.

Based on user feedback, the homepage and other high-level screens have been redesigned to simplify navigation and make the NHS App more intuitive.  As a result of the changes, some services may move but all will be available to patients as before.

You can now see and access your prescriptions electronically in the NHS App, allowing you to easily see the details of medicines/ items healthcare professionals have confirmed for you use a prescription barcode to collect your medicine if you don’t have a nominated pharmacy, without needing to collect a paper prescription.

This functionality is being rolled out gradually and will be available to all patients in England in early 2024.

As before, you can easily choose where your prescriptions are sent. So, if you know you'll be away from home or you are moving home, you can change your nominated pharmacy from within the app. You can also order your prescription at any time that suits you. There’s no need to wait to join a telephone queue or wait until the GP surgery opens.

You can log into your NHS account using the NHS App or the NHS website.

NHS App help and support

Your NHS account

Use your NHS account (on the NHS website or in the NHS app) to:

  • Book or cancel a routine appointment (call the surgery for an urgent appointment)
  • Order a repeat prescription
  • Get your test results
  • View your medical record
  • Get health advice
  • Covid-19 vaccination status
  • Find out how the NHS uses your data

The practice will phone or text you to confirm a GP has authorised you to view your medical record.

You will then need to bring photo ID and proof of your address to the surgery, where the receptionist will print your online access codes.

If you are a newly registered patient, we will have to wait for your medical record to arrive at the surgery before we can process your request to view your medical record.

Patient Access

This is an NHS wide service that allows patients to order repeat prescriptions and discover local health services for you or your family via your mobile or home computer. Register for Patient Access

If you wish to view your records  – you will need to fill out the form and bring photo ID and proof of your address to the surgery (2 separate proofs please). Once this is set up the clerk will email you and also post a physical copy copy of your codes in order that you can log on to the system.

If you are a newly registered patient, we will have to wait for your medical record to arrive at the surgery before we can process your request to view your medical record.
